Go Royals Part II

We went to another Royals game this past Friday. It was hot and muggy, just as I expected. Our seats were really good, although most of the seats that I've had at Royals games have been good so I can't complain. The kids were pretty hot and tired, and Kenny even slept through quite a bit of the game (no nap, sorry kiddo!) even with the drunk loud guys behind us. Kara spent a lot of the game telling me she "want go momma!" She did enjoy her dollar hot dog and drink, a few peanuts, and cotton candy. She did perk up during the seventh inning stretch when we were able to stand and sing. And she was pretty happy about the fireworks too.

Here's Kara with Uncle Les, Aunt Brina and Cousin Kenny before the game started

And this is Kara during the opening announcements of the lineup and such. She would sit with hands on knees until it was time to clap, then went to town with the clapping

Once again, the Royals lost. Blaine says I'm not allowed to watch or listen the rest of the season, because me paying attention to them must be what is causing them to lose.

Open Wide

Post swim, baby Landen was hungry, so his mommy and daddy found him some yummy sweet potatoes. He wasn't really cooperating with the spoon, so first Mommy tried, then Daddy, and finally Kara jumped in and said "I do it!" She took over the spoon and told Landen to "open up Wanden", and after he had taken the bite from her she told him he was a "GOOD BOY"

Baby Landen's First Swim

We finally had a chance to take Baby Landen for his first swim this past weekend. He was even more of a water bug than Kara was her first time in the pool. He splashed and splashed and never did cry, not even once. He was SO CUTE! And I have the pics to prove it.

And my favorite, the post-swim pruney toes (we took a pic just like this of Kara after her first swim!)

Pictures

I'm loving these pictures that were taken at my birthday party Monday.

This is my Grandpa and my nephew Landen. Every picture I took of Landen had that cute little tongue sticking out, I'm sure because he's feeling around at all those teeth he's grown (6!!!). I love this because my Granpa looks so happy.

And this is our second annual attempt at a family picture. I really wish I would have looked at the screen before we all moved so I could reposition people, but all in all we don't look too bad, and it will look good in Mom's frame. And the important part for this pic was to get Landen in the frame anyway!

And finally, Kara and Landen loving on each other. They are so cute together!

Mommy's Birthday Hat

For my 30th birthday my aunt made me a special hat. Kara was pretty excited about it, and even brought it in to me so that I would put it on. This of course lead to her thinking SHE needed to have a birthday hat. Mom finally located one of the party hats from her 2nd birthday, so she put that on, but I could tell that it wasn't really what she was after.

We are going to locate some sort of storage container to keep this hat in so we can re-use it for my brothers on their special day. I can't wait.

Rice, No Beans

We went to Ernesto's this past weekend. Doing so reminded me of my current favorite funny Kara story from taking her there the last time.

While waiting for our table her Daddy and I were talking to her and discussing what she might want to have to eat. I said, "Do you want an enchilada?" and Daddy added "with rice and beans?" Her reply? "Rice, NO beans. I'm on a diet."

We couldn't help but laugh. But methinks I have branded her for life.

She continues to amaze me

I've been amazed by this child of mine since the moment she was born. I think that's partly a product of being her mother. Lately she has done or said things that have made me sit back and wonder, where is she picking this stuff up at?!?!

There are so many things that she knows that I have no idea where she learned them. She's pretty good with naming shapes, something *I* didn't teach her. She has certain phrases or sayings that when they come out of her mouth that I wonder who she's heard them from, and some that I know exactly where she picked them up and wish that she hadn't!!

Yesterday I came home from work and put some medicine on my fever blister. She caught me doing this and wanted to know why I was doing that. When I told her I had a boo-boo on my lip she offered me a band aid. When I declined she proceeded to put it on my chin for me. All better!

Yee-Haw

We finally got a chance to take Kara back to the boot store and replace her cowboy boots. She loved the first pair, and really loved trying on boots at the store the first time, so I was excited. I told her we were going to get her some new cowgirl boots, and she replied "Momma, I need a hat!" So her Granny gave her the money to buy a cowgirl hat while she was at it. Her Daddy also chipped in to buy her a pink belt with a horseshoe/horsehead buckle. So she was definately stylin'.

The funniest part for me was when she first tipped her hat and shouted "YEEHAW!" Where she learned that particular saying is anyone's guess, but it was so CUTE!

Here she is in all her cowgirl glory:

My little swimmer girl

Every morning it is the same.

"Momma, I go Pa-Pa's house, wim in the pool?" Which translated from Kara-speak means, mommy can I go to Grandpa's and swim in the pool.

I swear she is a fish. Every time she is at Mom and Dad's she has to swim at least once. Heaven forbid the weather not permit. And I can't understand how she can complain to me in the morning that she is cold due to sitting directly in front of the AC, but can immerse herself in that super-cold water (she swam the first day the pool was open!)

So here are a couple pics of Kara in this year's swimsuit, Spongebob of course!

Go Royals!

So we took Kara to her first professional baseball game the 28th of June.

She LOVED it. As soon as the game was over she was saying "ball game again?" Again being her favorite word for anything she likes and wants to repeat.

I thought this would be a good place to start trying to load pictures of that evening.

Oh yeah, and the Royals lost, but we had such a good time we really didn't care!

Go Royals!

Potty Training is NO FUN

I'm at my wit's end with the whole idea of potty training. Right now Kara acts like you are trying to remove a limb if you so much as suggest she should sit on the potty, let alone asking her to try and use it.

This weekend I finally decided to put together a prize basket. And with some input on her part also bought a different potty chair. Apparently she wanted one that was "bwue". So far this hasn't improved our success rate, but I'm hopeful that that will be changing soon. I'm so over changing pants!!!!

The most irratating part to me is I know she would probably rather use the potty because of the comfort factor, she is just too stubborn to see things any way but her own!

This is all Patti's fault....

I'm only doing this because Patti says I have to. Seriously, I don't know a whole lot about blogging, but I'll give it a try.
